WATER CLERK JOB DESCRIPTION

Water Clerk
Salaried Status (Annual pay set by Village Council)
Supervisor – Village Clerk

Assists in the operation of the Village Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.

Works Monday’s, Tuesday’s, & Thursday’s - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (lunch hour from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.)

Handles all aspects of water bills: computing, printing, collecting, posting, deposit of money collected, and shutoffs for non payments.

Responsible for water and sewer monthly / quarterly reports.

Answers phones, take and deliver messages.

Operates office equipment such as computer, calculator, photocopying machine, and typewriter.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); computer experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
