On October 28, 1954 the bid was accepted from Fisher-Hengenbach (of Hastings) for a 1955 Ford Interceptor Police Cruiser for the price of $1730. The accessories were purchased from Peterson Motor sales for $15.53. The car was paid for on January 13, 1955.

The following picture and comments were placed in the Nashville News after the car was received in January 1955.

Picture of Nashville's First Police Car - Nashville's village president, Jack Green (right) bestows the keys to the village's new police cruiser upon Ray Pennock, local policeman, as Officer Danny Ritter stands by. It is the first police car ever to be owned by the community of 1,300 residents. Cost of the vehicle, with extra equipment, was $1,745.
