MINUTES OF NASHVILLE VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING

HELD AUGUST 9, 2007

Nashville Village Council Regular session was called to order by President Dunham on August 9, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the council chambers.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

ROLL CALL
Present: Mike Kenyon, Jack Holden, Mary Coll, Richard Harwood and James Dunham (7:05).

Absent: Frank Dunham, one open seat

AGENDA / MINUTES
Motion by Coll seconded by Holden to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes – Coll, Harwood, Holden, Kenyon. Nays – none. Absent – J Dunham, F Dunham. Motion passed.

Entered – J Dunham (7:05)

Motion by Holden seconded by Coll to accept the minutes of the previous Regular meeting held July 26, 2007 as presented. Ayes – J Dunham, Harwood, Holden, Kenyon, Coll. Nays – none. Absent – F. Dunham. Motion passed.

COMMUNICATIONS
Letter of resignation from Sallye McLean. (Cemetery Board)

BILLS
The attached list of bills totaling $52,762.11 were presented and Motion by J Dunham seconded by Coll to allow the August bills as listed to be paid and have orders drawn on the treasurer for the same. Ayes – Harwood, Holden, Kenyon, Coll, J Dunham. Nays – none. Absent – F Dunham. Motion passed.

DEPT. REPORTS – DPW, Police and Clerk reports for July were presented.

PUBLIC QUESTIONS
Just Shotts – read his letter of resignation from the council.
Curtis Scramlin – Has the alley ordinance been completed yet? (no)

RESIGNATIONS
Motion by Coll seconded by J Dunham to accept Sallye Mclean’s resignation from the Cemetery Board. Ayes – Harwood, Holden, Kenyon, Coll, J Dunham. Nays – none. Absent – F Dunham. Motion passed.

Send thank you to Sallye – place ad in paper to fill spot – but on agenda for 1st meeting in September.

Motion by Coll seconded by J Dunham to accept Justin Shott’s resignation from the Council. Ayes –Holden, Kenyon, Coll, J Dunham, Harwood. Nays – none. Absent – F Dunham. Motion passed.

Place ad in the paper for open seat – run for two weeks.

COMMITTEE REPORTS
None

ROUNDTABLE
J Dunham – Darrell has asked about the village supplying all DPW workers with work boots – other municipalities do this but is not in the village policy at the current time. Will bring back more information to the next meeting. (need policy change)

Kenyon – Police committee talked about having a meeting in September – all departments need to talk about their budgets.

Holden – Is it possible to close alley’s – Darrell – no because of power lines (utilities)

Motion by Holden seconded by Coll to adjourn at 7:38 pm. All ayes. Motion carried
